While I don’t get to as many gigs as I used to, I still got to quite a few fun shows over the course of 2015, so thought I’d take a look back at some of my fave concerts:
Kaiser Chiefs: The British rock outfit kicked off their North America tour (rescheduled from the previous autumn) on the West Coast with a Commodore Ballroom show the night after they kicked it off in Victoria.
Clean Bandit: The UK electronic act brought one of the more energetic small gigs to town this Spring when they wrapped their North American tour at the Commodore Ballroom
The Main Event: NKOTB are becoming known for bringing some great acts along with them on tour and the May stop on The Main Event Tour didn’t disappoint with TLC and Nelly joining NKOTB on the bill.
Starsailor & Embrace: In June, this pair of rock bands played The Imperial. Those in attendance at the Main St room were treated to an intimate gig by two of Britain’s best.
Fvded in the Park 2015: July saw the new location for FVDED Festival, Holland Park in Surrey was a great spot to hear some legendary DJs like Pete Tong and hit-makers like The Weeknd.
Journey: Celebrating 8 Years as with the venerable rock act Journey, Arnel Pineda, makes sure that their fans ‘Don’t Stop Believing’
Culture Club: July also saw the reunited Culture Club play a set at River Rock Show Theatre, although original drummer John Moss was unable to play due to illness, and sounded as good as they did 30+ years ago.
Imagine Dragons: With a diverse sounding catalogue, Imagine Dragons, held the audience entranced for a 2 hours set at Rogers Arena in August
Squamish Valley Music Fest 2015: Squamish Valley welcomed the ever expanding Festival in August with the 4 day’s of music and a record attendance of 118,000 revellers.
Madonna: The Rebel Heart Tour made an October stop at Rogers Arena and putting on a spectacular 2 hour + set that took the audience in a journey of the legend’s music
Florence & The Machine: An icon of a different style, Florence Welch wow’ed the Rogers Arena audience with her boundless energy during her October visit.
Muse Drones Tour: The year drew to a close by welcoming one of the most renowned live acts, Brit Award winning MUSE brought their Drones Tour to Rogers Arena in December
Florence & The Machine is my fave.
