This weekend Junofest heated up Winnipeg, a welcome break from one of the coldest winters on record. Three days of JunoFest concerts, fan fests, charity hockey game and gala awards banquet was concluded with the televised June Awards from the MTS Centre on Sunday night.
Hosted by Serena Ryder, Johnny Reid, and Classified the awards show included performances by the trio of hosts plus Sarah McLachlan, One Republic, Dean Brody, Matt Mays, Gord Bamford, Brett Kissel, Walk Off The Earth, The Sheepdogs and Tegan & Sara. Robin Thicke was a last minute cancellation due to medically ordered vocal rest.
The big winners of the night were Tegan & Sara walking away with 3 Junos, Arcade Fire and Serena Ryder each took home 2 trophies. Some of the other major winners are:
