The light hearted and always entertaining MTV Movie Awards were presented on Sunday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Hosted by late night host Conan O’Brien, the telecast featured performances by Ellie Goulding, Zedd, Twenty-One Pilots, Eminem and Rihanna.
Leading the way with eight nominations were the films; American Hustle, The Wolf Of Wall Street and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence leading the performers with five and four nominations respectively. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire walked away with three awards and We’re The Millers, The Wolf Of Wall Street and This Is The End each took two.
Besides the usual, Best Movie and Best Acting categories, the MTV Movie Awards always feature some entertaining nods to “Best Scared-As-Sh*t Performance”, “Best Shirtless Performance”, “Best Kiss”, and “#WTF Moment”. The night also featured a Tribute to Paul Walker and special presentations of the MTV Generations Award to Mark Wahlberg and an MTV Trailblazer Award to Channing Tatum. Throughout the evening MTV also revealed special sneak previews of this summer’s anticipated Hollywood blockbusters; X-Men – Days of Future Past, Godzilla & The Amazing Spiderman 2.
