Sunday night, Hollywood was on the edge of their seats to see not only who took home Golden Globe awards but also who was in the line of fire to be roasted by host, Ricky Gervais. True to form, Gervais didn’t let up and took to the stage, beer in hand, to give his unique take on the year in Hollywood.
Between Gervais’ shocking and risque revelations, awards were handed out during the live NBC broadcast. As well, the Golden Globes kept the audience updated on the Red Carpet and behind the scenes show action via YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Leading this year’s film nominees with 5 nominations was Carol, followed closely by The Big Short with 4, both films went home empty handed while Steve Jobs and The Revenant both had 4 nominations with The Revenant winning 3 and Steve Jobs, took home 2 trophies. Boyhood and Imitation Game with 5 nominations. Fargo and True Detective lead the television categories with 5 and 4 nominations respectively.
At the end of the ceremony, Boyhood went home with 3 awards in the movie categories and in in TV newcomers The Affair, Fargo and Transparent each took home 2 awards.
