There’s just a month to get your tickets to a fall tradition, one that raises funds and entertains the community in a one-of-a-kind variety show. Richardson GMP and Potluck Café Society are proud to present Barney Bentall & The Grand Cariboo Opry at The Vogue Theatre on Saturday, November 23, 2013. The show brings concertgoers together to support the Potluck Café Society and its work in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Formed in 2001, Potluck Café Society is an award-winning social enterprise that works to transform lives in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside by providing people in the community with free, nutritious meals while creating stable jobs with training. Over the past seven years, the proceeds of Barney Bentall & The Grand Cariboo Opry concert in Vancouver have helped to create jobs and serve over 50,000 nutritious meals to people living in the Downtown Eastside.
The Grand Cariboo Opry is entertaining show, hosted by Canadian music icon Barney Bentall, blending humorous and sentimental monologues with a heartfelt set of roots and folk favorites. This year, Bentall is joined by an line up of local friends and performers including Ridley Bent, Dustin Bentall, Wendy Bird, Kendel Carson, Matt Masters, and other special guests – including 54-40’s Neil Osborne.
