Last weekend, the streets of Vancouver were stormed by people who stripped down to their underwear, dressed up in skimpy costumes or superhero costumes to bring awareness to below-the-waist cancers. The Underwear Affair took place under hot sunny skies in it’s new location at Concord Pacific Place on the shore of False Creek. The huge fundraiser brought out more than 1000 people to run, volunteer and donate to the 2012 Underwear Affair, altogether, an incredible $633,000 was raised!

The 2012 run’s top finisher was Twilight star Charlie Bewley setting the pace and crossing the line at 37:40 and first lady was Hennisea Hoy at 41:05.
Proceeds from the Underwear Affair will benefit the BC Cancer Foundation, an independent charitable organization supporting research and care at the BC Cancer Agency. With cancer survival rates better than any other province in Canada, the BC Cancer Agency is a model for cancer care and control around the world and is leading the way in uncovering cures and putting these cancers behind us.

Together, we’ve all made a difference! For more information about The Affair and to register for next year’s Underwear Affair, visit uncoverthecure.org.
