Access to Music Foundation is a local foundation dedicated to providing BC’s children and youth with the tools to develop critical and analytical skills, self- esteem, and academic achievement through music education. Tomorrow, Access to Music Foundation (AtoM) is hosting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at CBC Vancouver’s Studio 700. Keynote speaker Canadian musician & Senator Tommy Banks is scheduled to address the event which begins at 6:30pm. The AGM is open to anyone interested in learning more about the organization, voting requires paid membership to the Foundation.
In addition to his keynote at the AGM, Senator Banks is selected school’s music programs, to see the impact that Access to Music has had upon local students.
On Wednesday night, October 22nd, AtoM is hosting a special night to honour Senator Tommy Banks Night at Vancouver’s FanClub, featuring a selection of stellar BC artists performing and hosted by Vicki Gabereau and Terry David Mulligan. In addition to honouring Senator Banks, the evening also aims to raise funds,for AtoM Foundation’s instrument and mentorship programs, through ticket sales and donations to the organization. The evening’s live music line-up celebrates Access to Music’s diversity, and features a range of genres from jazz to world music, and country to rock ‘n roll, like The Matinee, Jim Byrnes, Sister Says, Kylee Epp and many more.
The Access to Music AGM takes place Tuesday October 21 at CBC Studios, 700 Hamilton Street.
Doors 6pm.
Admission: free but voting requires paid membership.
