Alegría is a fan favourite classic Cirque du Soleil show, having performed to over 14 million people since its debut in 1994 under the direction of the acclaimed Franco Dragone. Having been restaged and revamped in 2019, adding the “In A New Light” subtitle, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, it now brings its magic back to Vancouver. All the classic element you expect from a Cirque du Soleil show; vibrant costumes, comedic clowns, Russian Bars, fire, aerialists, hula hoops, high flying trapeze artists, magnificent music peformed by a powerful pair of vocalists and a 5 piece live band plus so much more to keep audiences entertained for the 2+ hour long show.
The thrill of seeing the strength, skills and talents of the performers in-person again was clearly felt by everyone present, from young to old. The excitement of little ones, seated nearby, who couldn’t contain their enthusiasm was contagious, making us even more thrilled to run away and join the Cirque…
Cirque du Soleil’s Alegría In a New Light runs until June 5, 2022 under the Big Top at Concord Pacific Place, 88 Pacific Blvd. Show information, FAQ and tickets are available online at cirquedusoleil.com
