Chromeo – Commodore Ballroom – April 15, 2014
Before an exuberant sold out audience at the Commodore Ballroom, Montreal’s Chromeo brought the house down with their electro-funk sounds. As is always the case with a Chromeo show, they energy was electric as the audience, young and old, eagerly danced, cheered, pumped their fists and sang along to every beat put forth by Dave 1 & P-Thugg.
Each of the duo’s energetic, electronic tracks were met with renewed dancing and cheers that built throughout the night. The 70 minute long set peaked with their major hits, “Bonified Lovin'” and “Don’t Turn The Lights Out” and also included new tracks from their forth coming album “White Women”.
The only flaw in this show was the poor sound quality of Dave 1’s vocal, which seemed to be forsaken for the benefit of great sounding beats and instruments. But with the audience singing along to almost every word, it didn’t seem to matter, everyone had a great time and didn’t want the night to end.
Chromeo spreads their Bonified Lovin’ to the audience at Coachella Music Festival this weekend as they continue to tour around North America.
