Sunday brunch is a staple for many people, more than a hundred of them lined up this past Sunday morning at Novo Pizzeria for Dine Out Vancouver Festival’s Kitsilano Brunch Crawl.
Coordinated by Vancouver Foodster, the second Brunch Crawl of the 2015 festival served up a flavourful selection of sweets and savouries for morning’s tastings.
One of our favourite restaurants, Novo Pizzeria offered a meat or vegetarian option for their Breakfast Pizza, topped with Fontina, Fior di Latte, Peppers, Pancetta, Salumi and a Quail Egg, along side a Arugula Salad with Blood Orange, Candied Almonds, Olives and Parmigiano Reggiano and a sweet Sicilian Canoli.
On the corner of MacDonald and West 4th, Darby’s Pub presented a plate of pub brunch staples; (meat or veggie versions of) Eggs Benedict, Hangover Hash, and Mini Huevos Rancheros.
A couple of doors down, Vietnamese French-Style Linh Cafe served a spicy house-made Liver Pate Baguette, Shrimp Spring Rolls followed by Peanut Macarons
Nearby, Momento Coffee poured a flavourful, rich cup of coffee, a choice of butter or chocolate croissant with cold, steel-cut oats blended with Chocolate and Chia.
On West 1st, Krocodile Pear cleansed and refreshed our palates with a shot of their cold-pressed juice blends; English Bay – Orange, Cucumber, Grapefruit, Lemon & Mint and The Rockies – Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Raw Vanilla, Maple Syrup, Himalayan Pink Salt, Coconut Oil and Chia Gel.
Finishing the Kitsilano Brunch Crawl, Rain Or Shine Ice Cream scooped London Fog and Blueberry Balsalmic with crunchy waffle pieces.
There’s still plenty of time to get your tickets for the next Dine Out Vancouver Festival Brunch Crawl, take a tour around Main Street on January 24th, Downtown on January 25th, West End on January 31st and Commercial Drive on February 1st.
