The sun broke through the fog as an exuberant group of Brunch Crawlers gathered at Marquis Wine Cellars to kick off the 2015 Dine Out Vancouver Festival West End Brunch Crawl. Mimosas in hand the the guests mingled and posted selfies aimed at winning a Marquis Wine Cellar WineGram before taking to the streets of the West End.
Just down the street, Just Juice Bar offered a refreshing start to the day with a cleansing cup of Classic Greens – Cucumber, Celery, Rainbow Chard & Pear and Health Rocket – Coconut water, Pineapple, Carrot, Grapefruit & Ginger juices.
Across the road Los Amigos Tacos served a plate of Tostada de Frijoles (refried beans) & Tacos de Tinga (shredded chicken) or Super Veggie Taco (potatoes, corn & kale) along side a tasting cup of house-made Hibiscus flower cold drink.
Around to Robson Street, De Dutch Pannekoek House had their griddle going on the sidewalk dishing out hot pannekoek topped with either Strawberries & Icing Sugar or De Bakon & Cheese with their classic Strawberry Lemonade.
Up the hill at Pappa Roti, the ovens were working overtime to make sure there was plenty of their signature caramel coated coffee buns ready for the Brunch Crawl crowds. Served with Peanut Butter & Jam and a choice of Ice Blended Signature Chocolate drink, Signature Karak Tea or JJ Bean Coffee.
One of my favourite restaurants, Morocco West, presented, one of my favourite eggs benny in the city, their Morocco Benny – Poached Egg on Hummus, Merguez Sausage with Paprika Hollandaise, alongside a Moroccan Pancake topped with fruit and a honey-butter sauce.
Dine Out Vancouver Festival has now wrapped for another season and judging by the buzz around the city and social media it was a roaring success. Can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store!
