Early Music Vancouver (EMV) has shared the line-up of in-person concerts for the second half of its 52nd season. Designed to transport audiences to great cities of the world at turning points in musical history. From the birth of the madrigal in Italy in the 16th century and its explosive evolution at the turn of the 17th century. Find out the connection between Beethoven and Liszt, and learn of the 18th-century women composers and performers, contemporaries of Haydn and Mozart, who are rarely heard of.
After 22 months of digital concerts, this second-half of the EMV season brings artists from Canada, the US and Europe, back to the stage. For audiences not ready to return to in-person viewing, many of this year’s concerts will also be available online in the EMV Digital Concert Hall.
Four of the concerts will be ticketed events at $25, and three will be available by donation. This new model allows EMV to continue supporting artists and creators while also making great musical experiences available to all. A bonus for some of the ticketed online concerts will be announced in January.
Tickets for many of the concerts (January to June 2022) go on sale tomorrow, December 8, 2021.
