“an urban oasis, locally authentic and sensuously modern” that’s how the building’s achitect describes his vision for this newest Fairmont property in Vancouver.
Entering the hotel, you’re senses are immediately transported to another place. Stepping in from the grey, damp Vancouver streets, your taken to a bright, fragrant hub of urban sophistication.
As always, Fairmont service is impeccable as the staff quickly check you in and personally show you to the elevators to the trip to your room.
As you enter your room, the lights illuminate to a welcoming glow, the art is backlit and the floor to ceiling windows greet you with a vibrant urban waterfront view. A deep soaking tub and large walk-in shower are highlights of the bright, spacious bathroom. Modern but warm and comfortable rich woods and furnishings make you want to stay in your room every moment but there’s more to see. Pan-Asian dining can be found at Oru Restaurant, modern Italian deli Giovane serves up great casual food and coffee bar options (my personal fave spot for a hot chocolate) and the perfect for people watching Lobby Lounge features live music every night.
The property has a very impressive fitness centre and a renowned Willow Stream Spa. Spa users also get use of exclusive cabanas at the stunning pool & deckside bar, located on the 6th floor rooftop. Lay back on a surrounding lounge chairs and you’ll feel more ‘Beverly Hills’ than ‘North Shore Mountains’ although those are what you see as you look across the green roof of the Vancouver Convention Centre reminding you, you’re in a luxury oasis in the middle of Vancouver.
