Tonight, Vancouver TheatreSports League debuts its latest show – THROWDOWN – a knockout, dragging, kicking, laughing bout of improv. Playing Thursday, Friday, Saturday in the 7:30pm spot, Throwdown pits two teams against each other in a round robin match of improv games, each team trying their best and using sometimes questionable antics to win over the referee and audience with the usual ensuing laughter. Audience participation is always part of TheatreSports but at last nights preview we witnesses two audience members join the teams for the two deciding rounds of the games.
Held at the Vancouver Improv Centre on Granville Island, at trip to a TheatreSports show makes a great evening out, dinner on the Island or maybe a pre-show cockail in the Neil Macrae Bar in the Centre (you’re even encouraged to bring your drink into the theatre), then a lot of laughs. If you’re in the mood for more, you can easily upgrade your ticket to include the following 9:15pm show for just a few dollars more.
Vancouver TheatreSports League is located at Vancouver Improv Centre at 1502 Duranleau Street on Granville Island. Visit vtsl.com for tickets and information on Throwdown and all their many shows. Follow them on Twitter @VanTheatreSport and Facebook.com/VanTheatreSport
