Known as ‘the best little fest in the West’, the Harrison Festival of the Arts is a perfect summertime festival for the resort town of Harrison. For 36 years, the Harrison Festival of the Arts has been bringing the world to the lakeside town. This year’s festival hits town on July 12th to July 20th.
Since 1988 The Harrison Festival Society has been organizing the festival with the guiding belief that good quality live entertainment is an integral part of a healthy community and a commitment to celebrating the cultural diversity of the Canada and the world. As a result the Society dedicates itself to programming the festival with the best Canada and the World has to offer while keeping it inclusive and accessible for the general public.
Music on the Beach, a juried Art Market, Art Exhibits & workshops, Children’s Day and Evenings in The Harrison Memorial Hall are all programs throughout the Festival. For a donation of just $2 a Festival button allows everyone in the family to enjoy a great international line-up of artists. The Festival Button helps support the Festival and allows access to Music On The Beach, Art Market and Art Exhibit. Children’s Day, Wednesday July 16th, features a line-up of entertainment and activities in the Harrison Memorial Hall, all for the admission of $6.
The Evenings in The Hall, features a line-up of international music, literary reading and theatre; Calypso beats from the Caribbean, pipers from Ireland & Scotland, traditional Mexican singers, African rhythms from Tongo feature along with local performers “Straight from the Valley” throughout the Festival. Admission to Evenings in the Hall vary per performance, most are $25, or a Full Festival Pass for $160(before June 27th) allows for all 10 nights of entertainment.
