Winter marches on and we start March off with chilly but bright weather, perfect to get out and enjoy these picks of the week…

Canada Sevens

Scrum: The world, with a whole lot of costume wearing fans, is coming to BC Place this week as Canada Sevens takes over the city March 9 and 10.

Thief: Go behind closed doors to view the interactions between chronic five-finger discounter and store security in Morris Panych’s comedy The Shoplifters plays at The Arts Club Granville Island Stage until March 9th.

Soldier: At the Arts Club Goldcorp Stage at BMO Theatre Centre, Hardline Productions’ Redpatch tells the story of indigenous soldiers in WWI, on stag March 7 – 31.

Music: At The Cultch York Theatre, Corey Payette’s Children of God continues until March 10th

Théâtre: The world premiere of Théâtre la Seizième’s newest production, Le Soulier, continues at Studio 16 until March 9

Divas:  Fabulist Theatre’s Better Than This, an original revue celebrating the women’s roles in musical theatre, wraps up at the Havana Theatre stage on March 9th.

Blooms: From March 5 to 31, Metropolis at Metrotown’s Grand Court will be the site of Blossom at Metropolis, an awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind art installation made up of more than 250,000 cherry blossoms.

Dance: The Vancouver International Dance Festival brings world of dance to the city’s stages until March 30th.

Reverberations (Bar Mitzvah Tape) Brian Linds

Sound: Presentation House Theatre welcomes a unique production to the stage, Reverberations makes use of innovative sound technology with vintage apparatus, LP, 8-Track, Cassette & others to tell writer Brian Linds’ life story.

Lights: Friday March 8th, Yaletown lights up, with free one-of-a-kind light art installations, for one night only, on the 10 year reunion of Illuminate Yaletown. 

Rock: The River Rock Show Theatre welcomes the number one Elvis Tribute Artist, Shawn Klush performing Elvis Elvis Elvis, the Ultimate Tribute to the King on Friday.
