If world class winter sports isn’t enough, Whistler Pride and Ski Festival is back for its 25th year, January 22 – 29, 2017. Days of skiing and snowboarding, nights of dancing and parties means you’ll need somewhere comfortable to catch some much needed rest before you’re next event.
We recently had some R&R at the Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa, which perfectly checked off all the needs for a Whistler getaway. Making the drive from Vancouver in the 2016 Honda Pilot got the trip off to an even more comfortable start. A great vehicle for winter highway driving, the Pilot hugged the twists and turns of the Sea-to-Sky, just what we needed for the first snowfall of the season…and the many more that have followed. As usual we packed more than needed but with the Pilot’s ample storage space, it didn’t matter.
With all our baggage unloaded and checked into the Hilton Whistler, the spacious King Studio felt more like a suite with its full kitchen, fireplace, sofa and french doors overlooking the Village. The Resort’s amenities include outdoor heated pool and indoor hot tub and sauna to warm up after your dip. The Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa, the only authentic Javanese spa in North America, provides more extensive services. For a drink or bite, Cinnamon Bear Bar and Cinnamon Bear Bar are in the lobby.

The Hilton Whistler is conveniently located, drive off the highway to check-in, then when you’re ready to hit the village, the second entrance brings you right out to the Village Stroll, minutes from the Whistler Conference Centre the hub of Whistler Pride activities.
