Now in it’s 8th year, Pink Shirt Day has grown year after year from its grass roots Nova Scotia beginnings to become the national anti-bullying phenomenon it is today. February 25, is Pink Shirt Day 2015 and your chance to show your support for the anti-bullying campaign.
Locally the CKNW Orphan’s Fund Pink Shirt Day raised $200,000 in the 2014 campaign with proceeds supporting the anti-bullying efforts of; Boys & Girls Clubs, Canadian Red Cross of BC, Kids Help Phone, Kidsafe Project Society, Leave Out Violence Society (LOVE BC), & YWCA Metro Vancouver. This year’s campaign should push the total local earnings of Pink Shirt Day over $1million.
A new focus this year is online bullying, with a goal to turn the internet to a positive place. To help, every time someone uses the hashtag #PinkItForward and Coast Capital Savings will donate $1 to Pink Shirt Day. Visit pinkshirtday.ca to find out other merchants who are donating partial proceeds to Pink Shirt Day
Play your part by buying a Pink Shirt Day 2015 shirt at London Drugs to show you’re against bullying, and then help #PinkItForward online.
