January 16th, the 2017 PuSh International Performing Arts Festival gets underway delivering three weeks of groundbreaking performing arts. The 13th edition of PuSh Festival, January 16 – February 5, 2017, brings cutting edge and creative performances to venues all around the city.
Opening with Macbeth by Third World Bunfight, from South Africa, at Vancouver Playhouse and closing with The City and The City from Up In The Air Theatre & The Only Animal. In between, 123 performances range from the operatic Macbeth, sexually charged dance in South Korea’s Oil Pressure Vibrator or Belgium’s Sweat Baby Sweat, the dramatic Arts Club Theatre coproduction of As I Lay Dying. It’s not just stage productions at PuSh Festival either, take in the film series, learn with Industry talks and networking sessions, there’s plenty of talkback sessions and lecture. The caravan showcase is a collaboration with England’s Caravan Festival, bringing the best of British to PuSh. There’s plenty of free sessions as well from all aspects of the festival too.
