This past weekend, on a getaway to Whistler, we stayed at Summit Lodge & Spa, a great boutique hotel located in the heart of Whistler Village.
The 81 rooms are nicely appointed with kitchenettes, fireplaces, digital cable, sitting areas and sundecks but the benefits of Summit Lodge don’t end there. It’s the extras, and there’s lots of them, that really make a stay at Summit Lodge worthwhile.
Starting at check-in, the friendly staff (and possibly their dogs, the hotel is very pet-friendly) greet you at the front desk, where you’ll also find lemon water, fruit punch a complimentary candy-corner (penny candy bar) and uniquely a rent-a-fish Beta Fish named “Beau” can keep you company in your suite. In-room iPads, free wi-fi, Keurig coffee systems, Malin + Goetz bathroom amenities, free bike rentals for guests, discounted Spitfire Scooter rentals (adjoining the hotel lobby), and a “Honour Store” with free coffee, tea and hot chocolate with loads of topping options are just a few of the little benefits that really make your stay unique.
Off the lobby, adjacent to the Taman Sari Royal Spa, the only authentic Javanese Spa in North America, the indoor sauna leads to the hot tub and swimming pool. Summit Lodge backs on to Village Park so the pool and hot tub are fairly secluded, only overlooked by the hotel’s rear facing rooms meaning soaking up the afternoon sun means looking out at evergreen trees.
The Summit Lodge complex is home to a number of food options, Elements Urban Tapas Parlour is off the lobby and meeting rooms. Sachi Sushi is next door, Splitz Burgers and Crepe Montagne are nearby as are all the food and services at Whistler Marketplace across the street.
What ever takes you to Whistler, Summit Lodge & Spa is sure to be near to heart of everything you’ll need, check it out on your next trip.
