DJ Anna Lunoe shines at Shine

Anna Lunoe – Shine Nightclub – January 30, 2014

Anna-Lunoe-Breathe-Remixes 300piAustralian DJ/Producer/Singer/Songwriter Anna Lunoe spun her way into the hearts of the crowd at Shine Nightclub in Vancouver late on Thursday night.  A small but enthusiastic crowd eagerly awaited the performer to take her turn on the decks.  While it appeared some headphone issues caused her initial few tracks to sound a bit off, it didn’t seem to deter those filing on to the dancefloor and by the time she changed her headset she was in perfect form. A great mix of familiar samples from the 90’s and 00’s made the tunes accessible and catchy, a perfect way to warm up to the audience. Once it was time for Anna to play some of her own original tracks the house had filled considerably as had the dance floor.  It’s hard to tell if the energy from the audience fed her’s or if her own infectious dancing behind the booth fed the audience’s through the night.
This was a return visit to the city for Anna Lunoe, after playing an opening set for The Weeknd’s two sold out shows this summer at the Orpheum.  She continues to tour, including a set at Coachella Music Festival later this spring, in promotion of her recent single release, Breathe and collaboration with Flume, I Met You, .

Little Boots kicks up her heals in Vancouver

Little Boots – Fortune Sound Club – September 27, 2013

Little BootsAfter a fun opening performance by MNDR and an 80s diva filled DJ break from Anna Prior,Victoria Hesketh, better known as Little Boots took to the stage at Fortune Sound Club in Vancouver for the closing night of her tour.  Always stylish,  Little Boots got the audience dancing wearing a glamourous dress and heals adding to her powerful stage presence. The petite singer whipped through an hour long set of great upbeat music with her 3 piece backing band filling in the sounds that her own keyboard and sampler couldn’t. The nearly full house, were happily dancing their Little Boots & Bandhearts out and singing along with songs from her 2009 debut album, “Hands” and her recent release “Nocturnes”.  She sang and danced along with the audience and seemed to genuinely enjoy herself, knowing that she was wrapping up the tour.  Having last played in Vancouver in 2010, she apologised for having taken a long time in between visits but was proud of her album, released on her own album as well as her most recent single’s video for “Satellite” which she co-directed.  Wrapping up the night with her best known single “Remedy” before being joined on stage by MNDR for a bit of “Shake” and really shaking the house to the finish.

Celebrities Re-opens After Renovations

Vancouver’s legendary Celebrities Nightclub reopened this week after a months long closure to renovate and recreate the old venue.

Management Blueprint Events has taken care to recreate all the things people loved about the club and at first glace it seems quite the same but after examination it is different; newer, cleaner, brighter and flashier. Upon entry, the foyer is much the same however, the washrooms have received a major upgrade and the men’s and ladies’ have swapped places. Walking down into the main room, the partial dividing wall obscuring the dancefloor features new lighting highlights. The original bar is now mirrored with one on the opposite side of the room and gone are some of the pillars in the middle of the floor. The DJ booth/stage area has opened up and draws clearer attention to the DJ or performers. The highlight of the renovations has to be the sound and light system. The upgraded sound system from Funktion 1 is sure to be a favourite of visiting performers and DJs as their sounds will be unmatched in the city. Looking up, the new lighting system brings stunning effects to the entire room.

The club now lives up to the great names and events Blueprint has become well known for presenting to Vancouver.

Share Nightclub Las Vegas

DJ Chi-Chi Larue

Stripper Circus comes to town! Billed as the ‘Dirtiest Show On Earth’, the Hollywood party heads to Las Vegas’s only Gay strip club every Friday. Lead by ringleader DJ Chi-Chi Larue, Share Nightclub gets down and dirty with a dozen sexy dancers. Midway games & entertainment surround the dance floor as the resident dancers and visiting adult entertainment stars work up the crowd as they take to the stages around the club. As the patrons get into the pop-dance tracks spun by DJ Chi-Chi the lights dim signalling that it’s time to get a little more risque as the dancers can fully disrobe. The darkness certainly releases a lot of people from their inhibitions as they find unique ways and places to leave a tip for the gogo boys.

Upstairs in the large club is a smaller more intimate lounge area where the late night crowd tends to drift into as the main room thins. A few very intimate rooms are located behind the velvet rope for those seeking a more private dances.

Stripper Circus with DJ Chi-Chi Larue and DJ Nick Ayler takes over Share Nightclub every Friday.

Share is located at 4636 Wynn Road (about $ 15 taxi from mid-strip).
There is no cover charge ever. Visit Sharenightclub.com for special offers. VIP Bottle service and more information.
