Oktoberfest Munich starts tomorrow, September 16th bringing thousands of visitors to another edition of the world’s largest volksfest. If you can’t make it to Germany, the Vancouver Alpen Club is the place to celebrate Oktoberfest right here at home.
For over 30 years, Vancouver Alpen Club has been the city’s main Oktoberfest celebration. Starting Friday, October 6th, 2017, festivities take place every Friday and Saturday for the next three weekends. Live music from The Continentals as well as a DJ mixing tunes encourages the masses to kick up their heels.
Traditional Bavarian cuisine, like spätzle, schnitzel, and sausage fills bellies while mugs are filled with German ale. Vancouver Alpen Club Oktoberfest cooperates with the German breweries Krombacher, Erdinger, and for the first year Hofbraeuhaus Muenchen bringing centuries of brewing history to the kegs in Vancouver. Over the course of the three weekends of Oktoberfest, over 7000 litres of beer will be served to 400+ daily visitors.

The third annual Harrison Beer Festival and Oktoberfest Dance happen in the hamlet of Harrison Hot Springs, on October 24 & 25, 2014.
Three events are spread across the two night fest; Cask Night on Friday and the Beer Festival and Dance on Saturday.
Cask Night sees six BC craft breweries; Old Yale Brewery, Dead Frog Brewery, Four Winds Brewing, Cannery Brewing Company, Red Truck Beer Company & Scandal Brewing Company putting their casks head to head in friendly competition.
The Beer Festival welcomes 23 breweries, each presenting 3-4 different beers, 70 beers in total, for sampling by the festival patrons. That evening join in the fun at the traditional Oktobefest Dance, featuring Bavarian style beer on tap and the Oktoberfest Band will make sure you polka into the night.
