The rain broke just in time on Wednesday, for a few hundred food enthusiasts to descend upon Yaletown for another great Tasting Plates event.
As with all Vancouver Foodster’s Tasting Plates, tasters check-in, this time at Bella Gelateria Yaletown, to receive their Tasting Plates card then take off on a tour of the neighbourhood to see what tastes are offered.
Starting with Bella Gelateria, tasters experienced the flavours of Italy with a tasting plate including Bruschetta (topped with local tomatoes, Dior do latte, olive tapenade & honey balsamic drizzle), Pizza Margherita, Tiramisu and a choice of gelato (Chocolate Nutella, was my choice). I also added a blood orange sorbeto Cagliari Italian Soda to finish off the Italian experience.
Then over to Romer Burger for a chef’s sampler Tasting Plate from their new happy hour menu of Sliders, Calamari, Chili Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Fish & Chips, Spicy Wings with sides of House Cooked Chips, Truffle Popcorn and Fried Pickles.
Over on Homer Street were two sweet locations
Ganache Patisserie offered some sweet bites of their Blanc Frasier Cake, Chocolate Velouté Cake and Parisian Pastries of a Coffee Macaron, Raspberry & Mango Pate de Fruit and Vanilla Vacherin.
Then across the street at Xoxolate the world class chocolatiers presented Cardamom Creme Brule, The BTO (Bacon, Tomato & Olive) House Blended Chocolate and Hot Drinking Chocolate
On Davie Street, at the soon to open, Krocodile Pear Juice Bar we had a tasting jar of Cold Pressed Organic Green Juice including Kale, Spinach, Parsley, Romaine, Cucumber, Celery, Apple, Lemon & Ginger.
Krocodile Pear shared their space with Nourished Van who offered tasting plates of Thai Quinoa Salad topped with Spiced Roasted Chickpeas and Local Hazelnuts.
Also on site, Elarose Chocolate presented a taste of their Raw, Ecuadorian Heirloom Chocolate.
If this sounds like a tasty treat to you, join in the next Vancouver Foodster events; Coffee Crawl on November 22nd
