The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger – Rogers Arena – October 25, 2015
The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger (Goastt), are a fitting act to be in the opening slot for Florence + The Machine’s How Big Tour. With a similarly retro but contemporary aesthetic, the group led by Sean Ono Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl look like they’ve stepped out of 1973 but have a timeless musicality. In spite of the weak audio that often befalls opening acts, Goastt produces a lush sound that feels like it’s being produced by more than just the quintet on stage. Most opening acts perform to a mostly empty arena but there was a good crowd present to watch The Goastt set, and those who weren’t aware of them, seemed to be won over.
