Looking for laughs? Vancouver TheatreSports League is in the midst of its 27th Annual Valentine’s Massacre bringing Improv teams from around the continent to compete for bragging rights of being the best improv team. The Massacre performances take place every night this week, with shows at 7:30 and 9:15pm and the Grand Finale on Sunday February 15th.
Then on Thursday February 19th, Vancouver TheatreSports League presents its 10th annual Grapes of Laugh Gala. As a local, not-for-profit theatre company, VTSL relies on fundraising efforts like Grapes of Laugh to support its community and youth programs. A surefire way to lighten up your week, the not-to-miss event features sips, bites and super comedy all in support of Vancouver TheatreSports’ community and youth programs.
The Grapes of Laugh, co-hosted by man-about-town Fred Lee, and impresario Howard Blank, will earn your laughter and donations with a live improv show will showcase VTSL’s top mainstage improvisers.
To help raise those precious funds, the Gala will also feature a live and silent auction stacked with amazing items up for bid, including:
– Dinner for two with actor-comedian Colin Mochrie, and Jay Ono, VTSL Executive Director, at The Dockside Restaurant on Granville Island, plus — two tickets to see Colin Mochrie live in Vancouver
– A walk-on role on an upcoming episode of the web series, Convos With My 2 Year Old, with its creator, Matthew Clarke, and VTSL’s own David Milchard
– An improv workshop with VTSL’s Executive and Artistic Directors, and the opportunity to ride the bench as an improviser in a full 90-minute weekend TheatreSports show at The Improv Centre
