Western Gold Theatre, which focuses on sharing and celebrating the talents of senior professional theatre artists (age 55+), has had to pivot, like all companies, during the pandemic. Virtual Gold is their way of keeping the creativity flowing while keeping their players and audiences safe,
The Virtual Gold season will include a series of free podcasts: audio stories, interviews and play readings which will be aired on a regular basis – presented by Western Gold Theatre and featuring the talents of Canada’s top theatre artists.
This month, a set of holiday favourites are presented by Western Gold regulars Russell Roberts and Anna Hagan.
December 16: “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” Dylan Thomas’ classic read by Russell Roberts
December 20: “A Lute for Christmas” by Susan Adams, performed by Anna Hagan with musical accompaniment by Clive Titmus
December 24: Russell Roberts reads Three Christmas Tales
“The Gift of the Magi” by O. Henry
“Christmas Day in the Morning” by novelist Pearl S. Buck
“Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus” by Francis P Church
