Last week, Where Vancouver handed out its 21st annual Where to Dine Awards to local restaurateurs during an afternoon event, hosted by man-about-town Fred Lee, at Glowbal restaurant at Telus Garden.
Where to Dine Awards went to:
Miku Restaurant received the Where Sustainable Seafood Award, presented to the restaurant that best exemplifies practices of sourcing, serving and promoting sustainable species outlined in the Ocean Wise Program, as determined by the BC Seafood Alliance, Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre and Where Vancouver.
Ancora received the Silver Service Award, presented by concierge members of BC Les Clefs d’Or, chosen for consistently delivering the ultimate guest experience: an exceptional combination of food, service and hospitality.
Chef David Hawksworth of Hawksworth Restaurant and Nightingale was presented the Leadership Award for the impact he’s had on Vancouver’s dining scene.
Megan Buckley of Hy’s of Canada received the Les Dames d’Escoffier Trailblazer Award in recognition of her long-time commitment to excellence.
Where Vancouver food editor Tim Pawsey chose Kissa Tanto as Vancouver’s Best New Restaurant, and The Salted Vine Kitchen & Bar as Whistler’s Best New Restaurant.
Aki Restaurant was honoured with the Editor’s Choice award.
