To celebrate a good friend’s birthday this weekend a group of us went to Raincity Grill, taking advantage of the special occasion and Dine Out Vancouver Festival.
I’d only been to Raincity Grill for brunch, so it was a great opportunity to experience dinner at this icon of Vancouver’s restaurant scene.
The award winning service was evident from the moment you walk in the door, staff were attentive as they greeted us and took our coats before leading us to our table. The multi-levels in the dining room makes the large space more intimate and quiet. Jenn, our server, was super friendly, fun and knowledgeable.
While some of the item are not on their regular menu, the Dine Out menu ($38) gave us a great taste of the local, farm-to-table, organic fare that the restaurant has been famous for since opening in 1992. Also renowned for their extensive wine list, the Dine Out wine pairings were sure to be well chosen and the cocktails were simple, tasty and traditional. Fresh, hot rolls with butter and Vancouver Island sea salt helped pass the time while we decided on our orders and waited (not long) for food to arrive.
Between us, we ordered each of the items on the menu of three starters, three mains and three desserts. The presentation of each of our plates was beautiful and each component was a perfect taste on its own and even better when taken together. Comparing notes with each other, we enjoyed everything from first sight to last bite.
Take a look at the Dine Out menu for yourself and make a reservation soon.
