I saw this amazing story today of a new airline alliance. It’s not the traditional airline to airline alliance but a fast food restaurant to airline alliance. Japan Airlines will introduce Air Kentucky Fried Chicken on some of its long haul flights between Japan and the USA and Europe. Starting December 1st 2012 running until February 28, 2013 ‘Air Kentucky’ will be served, during the second meal service, to passengers flying in Premium Economy and Economy class flights between Narita and New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, London, Paris or Frankfurt. JAL and KFC have created exclusive packaging and meal for these flights. The Air Kentucky meal includes one drumstick, one boneless chicken breast fillet, a piece of specially made flat bread, a cup of coleslaw and lettuce leaves. Passengers can eat the meal as is or create a sandwich with the bread, lettuce, mayo and fillet.
KFC is especially popular in Japan over the Holiday season so now passengers get a Christmas treat in the air.
If this partnership ‘takes off’ could we see more fast food in the skies?
What fast food would you like to be served on your next long haul flight?
