We’re already wrapping up February, as we head closer to Spring, let’s see what’s coming up in this week’s picks
Books: The annual JCC Jewish Book Festival is coming to the comfort of your home from February 20 – 25th featuring virtual events and conversations with an exciting roster of writers from across Canada, the US, Israel, Great Britain and Chile.
Dine: It’s the tastiest time of the year in Vancouver! Dine Out Vancouver Festival returns for its longest run ever. From February 5th to March 7th, over 330 restaurants (most ever) will serving multi-course menus at set prices starting from just $15.
Stick: The 20th Anniversary Talking Stick Festival continues until February 27, 2021, with a host of free shows and events.
Orchestra: Vancouver Symphony Orchestra‘s digital theconcerthall.ca is debuting The Resilient Symphony, with special guests James Ehnes, Itzhak Perlman, k.d. lang, Geddy Lee, Steven Page, and many more in an evening of music and stories, joining the others still streaming productions from throughout the season.
Feast: The Polygon Gallery is welcoming the Canadian premiere of a colourful touring exhibition, Feast for the Eyes: The Story of Food in Photography.
Youth: Carousel Theatre for Young People (CTYP) is playing the second production in its AudioPLAY season, Rishi & d Douen, an interactive audio performance produced by Rumble Theatre, recommended for children ages 6+, streaming until February 28th,
Paddle: BC Sports Hall of Fame’s newest exhibition, Paddles Up! The Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival Exhibit explores the Dragon Boat Festival’s history since the sport’s arrival at Expo 86.
Dance: A new national initiative, Digidance, formed byHarbourfront Centre (Toronto), DanceHouse (Vancouver), National Arts Centre (Ottawa), and Danse Danse (Montreal) debuts with theCanadian film premiere of internationally renowned Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite’s work Body and Soul, performed by the Paris Opera Ballet.
Choreo: Opening tomorrow, the Dance Centre in Vancouver is featuring renowned choreographer and performer, Joshua Beamish – MOVETHECOMPANY PROXIMITY as part of its Global Connections Series.

Earthquake: The Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC’s newest exhibition A Future for Memory: Art and Life After the Great East Japan Earthquake, is running until September 5, 2021
Ballet: Connect with Ballet BC artists and creators as their new video series takes you – Backstage with Ballet BC
Museum: A perfect visit for the Chinese New Year season, stop by MOV at Vanier Park or the Chinatown location to view A Seat at the Table a collaborative exhibition exploring historical and contemporary stories of Chinese Canadians in BC and their struggles for belonging.
Colour: Now open at the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art find the Western Canadian premiere of running from February 3 –May 9, 2021.
