We are privileged to have the Royal BC Museum (RBCM), one of the world’s premier natural history museums, in Victoria. However, for many British Columbians Victoria is still a long trip and visiting the RBMC might not be top of mind when making the trip. With the institution closed due to COVID-19 measures the Museum is bringing its exhibitions to the public, through the RBCM@Home program.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, using the digital meeting platform ZOOM, RBCM@Home will visit with members of the curatorial and collections staff who are working from home during the pandemic and discover how they do their work, how their work is reflected in their homes and what they’re working on now.
School trips are a big part of the Museum’s programs too, so the little ones are still an integral part of the online museum. Every Wednesday RBCM@Home Kids visits with members of the museum staff who are working from home, along with families from across BC, as we make and learn together. Each session will have some kind of making activity, so get your paper and pencil crayons ready. The calendar will keep up to day with the topic and the list of materials needed to join in on the activities at home.
