Tourism Week, May 24 – 30, 2020, is normally a celebration of tourism and a way for the $20+ billion BC industry to kick off the upcoming season whilst showing that #BCTourismMatters, but Tourism Week in the Covid-19 era is anything but normal.
With local and international travel restrictions to be upon us for the foreseeable future this will be a summer unlike any other as many of the travellers the industry depends on will not be coming to BC. However, Tourism is a robust industry and has weathered other, albeit smaller, crises in the past and will get through this one, with your help.
If British Columbian travellers spend some of the $6.7 billion they spend on out-of-province travel within British Columbia, we can help revive the Tourism Industry while keeping the Covid-19 curve flatlining.
As the province moves to Phase 3 of the recovery plan, community-to-community travel will no longer be discouraged. This week, let’s take a look at what is reopening in the region that will help us venture a bit outside of our own communities.
While not all hotels closed due to Covid-19, all of them are readying to welcome more guests for the new normal including increased health, safety and cleaning regimes. Here’s list of some of the closed hotels that have announced reopening schedules.
