This weekend, join in a global event as participating theatre companies across the world live stream free performances of White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, to celebrate the artists and companies in the theatre community.
Last March 11, 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic, just a few short days later on March 13, most theatres across the globe went dark to help halt the spread of the virus. No one could have predicted the curtain to be down for this long, many theatre companies have adapted to livestreams and other online methods to keep the Arts alive, but some sadly won’t reopen.
To mark this unprecedented anniversary, Aurora Nova is creating an extraordinary global event to celebrate live theatre and the resilience of artists and the Arts community. On March 13, 2021, participating companies across the world will be streaming live performances of White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, for their individual communities. Here in Vancouver The Cultch will host a free presentation of the the award-winning play from celebrated Iranian playwright, Nassim Solemanipour, on March 13th at 7:30pm.
No rehearsals, no director, a different actor each performance, and a script waiting in a sealed envelope on stage. White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is an bold theatrical experiment and a potent reminder of the transgressive and transformative power of theatre.
