Ballet BC is preparing for its next digital presentation, REACHING U.
Debuting April 15th, REACHING U is the company’s featured program of its adapted 2021 Season. The evening will feature works by acclaimed duo Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar as well as Artistic Director Medhi Walerski.
REACHING U features:
GARDEN: Choreographed by Medhi Walerski
Previously nominated by Dance Europe for Best Production, GARDEN is an elegant and sophisticated work inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns’ Piano Quintet in A minor, Op. 14. Through a series of duets, unison, and counterpoint, while reflecting the refined dialogue between strings and piano, the dancers shape the space physically in a pure and organic way.
BEDROOM FOLK: Choreographed by Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar
Since making its successful North American premiere with Ballet BC in 2019, Bedroom Folk has become a signature of the company’s touring repertoire across the globe. The esteemed collaborative duo Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar return for this digital performance of BEDROOM FOLK. Visually mesmerizing, a house beat pulses through an intoxicating space as dancers subtly move through this absorbing work in striking ways.
Tickets for REACHING U are by donation and available at balletbc.com. The digital streaming program makes its debut April 15th at 5pm and runs until April 21 at 10pm PST.
