The Vancouver Folk Music Festival today announced the lineup of extraordinary performers coming to Jericho Beach Park for its 47th annual festival, July 19-21.
The lineup will bring something for everyone to the stages, from beloved folk and roots songwriters to dance-inducing rhythm makers, heart-searing harmonizers, to global instrumental aces and much more!
After a hugely successful 2023 festival, the 2024 edition of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival is ready to carry on the Festival’s legacy of musical excellence and eclectic discovery. On the weekend of July 19, 20 and 21, some of the world’s finest traditional and contemporary folk, world and roots music artists will fill the spectacular urban seaside spaces of Jericho Beach Park.
Artistic Director Fiona Black says “In a world that sometimes feels like it is being pulled apart, there’s comfort in knowing that we’ll again be gathering at Jericho Beach on the third weekend of July and immersing ourselves in the musical magic of the 47th Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Over 40 music acts with roots in over 15 countries, including 6 Canadian provinces and territories and 9 US states, will perform on three daytime stages and an evening main stage over festival weekend. Getting the festival underway, gates open at 2pm on Friday, July 19 (music onstage from 3-11pm), Then on Saturday July 20 and Sunday, July 21, gates open at 9am, with music ringing out across Jericho Park from 10am to 11pm.
Throughout the park audiences might encounter an Afrobeat star on one stage, old-time Appalachian tunesmiths on another, a M?ori Priestess, a Maliseet balladeer. You’ll also find Americana, son jarocho and desert blues, accordions and banduras, beats and banjos, poets and rabble-rousers, songs to sing-along – and more. The 2024 Vancouver Folk Festival offers a weekend of global connections with something for everyone to discover to suit their musical taste.

In addition to amazing music, the people-centred Festival makes it easy to spend the whole weekend on site; featuring a wide range of food vendors in Pete’s Eats, licensed beverage services, an Artisan Market, the Community Village highlighting local groups and organizations, plus the hugely popular Little Folks Village for family-friendly fun. The Vancouver Folk Music Festival also prides itself on its environmental awareness, sustainability initiatives, and accessibility, with bike parking, free water stations around the site and other amenities.
