Saturday, Social Media Camp (SMCamp) came to a close for 7th time at the Victoria Conference Centre. The annual 3 -day event has grown each year to become Canada’s largest social media conference.
As social media has become more mainstream, Social Media Camp’s topics and speakers have evolved from social media 101 to include digital marketing and sales. Each year there seems to be a new App that generates much buzz across SMCamp, this year Snapchat was that app as people still try to find how it will fit their audience. Other Apps evolve to survive so there’s always more to learn as algorithms and terms of use change.
This year’s great speakers came from all across the continent (plus the UK). Over the three days, we heard from You Tube master Steve Dotto, digital markters Mitch Joel, Journalist/Canadaland Podcaster Jesse Brown, video/online strategist Sunny Leonarduzzi, LinkedIn Expert Vivika von Rosen, Instagal Sue B Zimmerman, author-entrepreneur Tara Hunt and many more. Knowledge, networking, ideas and inspiration are all take-aways from Social Media Camp.
