Just one week old, Yah Yah Ya Ramen Robson Street is already bringing people in droves.
Having been open in Richmond for a couple of years already, the Japanese Ramen chain has already built a reputation. Bringing it to the former location of Junsei River on Robson, adds to the plethora of ramen shops downtown. There are relatively few ramen locations in the east end of downtown so Yah Yah Ya stands out. The new bright decor with large communal tables, a bank of double and 4 seat tables make the space a much more welcoming option from the previous tenant. We’ve been a couple of times already and it’s been quite busy so far, as word spreads Yah Yah Ya is ready for expected line ups with a nice size foyer to bring the line indoors.
The Yah Yah Ya menu specializes in Ie-Kei Pork Soup Base and then the familiar; Shoyu, Black Tonkotsu, Miso, Shio and more. A couple of non-soup options, Abura and Mazesoba round out of the year-round ramen. Summer will bring a couple of Cold Ramen bowls. A variety of toppings and side dishes fill out the menu. Create a rice bowl set with Onigiri, Chashu, Mentaiko or Salmon toppings for a filling meal.
We’ve enjoyed every thing we’ve had so far, and look forward to trying more. Yah Yah Ya Ramen is located at 570 Robson, near Seymour Street (under H Mart)
