Despite the weather the season of Spring Festival and Lunar New Year celebrations are upon us and there is also plenty more entertaining activities in this week’s picks!

Bridge: Romance continues until February 22, at Love Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park – the perfect spot for a date night, explore the illuminations around the park then check out the dining and activities.
Love: Fan the flames of LOVE Month continue at The Improv Centre on Granville Island, with hot hot hot fan favourite shows and interactive games from the past years aimed at making your dates, romantic or platonic date nights a laugh until March 4
Destination: Keeping the family fun going until February 28, Destination Downtown Vancouver brings activities, exploring and a contest all together. Go on a Lit Word search around downtown, lace up your skates at the Robson Square rink or hunt for the Lit Up Animals to win prizes.
Parade: Sunday February 22, join thousands of spectators at The 52nd Vancouver Chinatown Spring Festival Parade – the community organized parade is one of the highlights of the year and a lively way to wrap up the Lunar New Year Spring Festival.
Lunar: Celebrate the Year of the Horse with the array of activities from Lunarfest 2026 until February 28 including Lantern City displays, Film Screenings around town and Arts & Crafts and Lantern Making workshops at Granville Island this weekend
Taste: Continuing until February 22 at Chinatown Storytelling Centre, Taste of Chinatown features festive food collaborations, culinary pop-ups, special events, arts & craft, and more.
Tea: Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver – available Thursday to Sundays until February 22 featuring sweet and savory bites inspired by traditional flavours and festive delights plus an exclusive tea blend created by the Chinatown Storytelling Centre in collaboration with TEALEAVES.

Museum: Celebrate the Year of the Horse on February 21 and 22 at The Chinese Canadian Museum’s Year of the Horse at the Museum – a full weekend of family friendly entertainment, treats, crafts and workshops. Saturday features a live performance of the audio play Bun Fun New Year in English and Cantonese by Five Blessings Collective. Sunday, after the parade join Chef Christopher Leow for a hands-on workshop making a Prosperity Salad and much more.
Garden: Step into the tranquility of the Garden February 21-22 for Spirit of Fire Horse at Dr Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden – a weekend of Chinese cultural live performances, tastings, family-friendly workshops, arts & crafts and food vendors.
Opener: MLS Whitecaps FC return to action this week with their Season Opener at BC Place Stadium, hosting Real Salt Lake on Saturday February 21
Laughs: Tonight, Just For Laughs Vancouver continues with An Evening with David Letterman and Zach Galifianakis. Murder: The Arts Club previews its production of Dial M for Murder Jeffrey Hatcher’s new adaptation of the classic psychological thriller by Frederick Knott. until March 8 at the Stanley BFL CANADA Stage
Folk: February 14 to March 8, The Firehall Arts Centre produces and presents the world premiere of Tracey Power’s House of Folk: A Lost Canadian Folk Show, set in the 1960s during the height of the Canadian folk music revival, it take audiences back to a time when coffeehouses were filled with song and spirit of the decade.
Ensemble: February 21 – 22, Turning Point Ensemble presents Concerti Premiere, unveiling new chamber at The Annex, a program features three world premieres, one North American premiere, and solos by world-renowned violist Rivka Golani, as well as Turning Point Ensemble’s own accomplished bassoonist, Ingrid Chiang.
Buffalo: Until February 23, Gateway Theatre Studio B presents Where Have All the Buffalo Gone? an Axis Theatre Company production for young audiences portrays the magic of Métis music and storytelling in a powerful journey weaving together love and centuries of history from the celestial origins of the stars to the heartbeat of the Riel Resistance and into the present day.
Warrior: The Cultch battles through winter with its second annual Warrior Festival, calling audiences to all three Cultch stages until March 29.
Warriors: National Lacrosse League’s Vancouver Warriors host Buffalo Bandits at Rogers Arena on Friday February 20
Matriarch: The Dance Centre and O.Dela Arts presents the eighth annual Matriarchs Uprising Festival until 21 with a celebration of contemporary dance by Indigenous women from Canada and Australia
