This summer, the rock icons Queen and Adam Lambert are joining forces to bring what is sure to be one of the season’s biggest concert tours to North America. Starting June 19th at the United Center in Chicago, founding members Brian May, Roger Taylor of Queen + Adam Lambert will come together for 19 dates across the continent; including a June 28th stop here in Vancouver plus shows in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Las Vegas and many more, wrapping up in Washington, DC on July 20th.
After a glowingly reviewed Queen + Adam Lambert performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September a conversation between Lambert, May & Taylor triggered a drive to take the show on the road.
Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. It was the most anticipated act of the night.”
Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to”
Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”
The trio have performed a handful of special shows together since first meeting and sharing a stage during American Idol in May 2009, always to great success. The anticipation created by these gigs, bringing together Queen’s 40 years of legendary experience and Lambert’s meteoric rise from American Idol to global pop star, will surely fuel the ticket sales for this tour.
Tickets go on sale beginning next Friday, March 14 through livenation.com, (watch for presales starting earlier in the week).
