Next weekend New Westminster will come alive with Arts & Culture. The 11th Annual New Westminster Cultural Crawl takes place August 9 & 10, 2014. The two day city-wide Arts & Cultural experience opens the doors to local artists and artisans, explores the city’s heritage, and its unique cultural footprint.
Every year arts and cultural fans come from all across Metro Vancouver to visit New West’s artists, studios, galleries, live music venues, restaurants, theatres and historical locations, exploring the “rejuvinated” New Westminster and discover upcoming and professional talent. The Royal City represents a largely undiscovered arts and cultural community that ranges from emerging artists to several acclaimed Federation of Canadian Artists members. Seven of these artists are being featured in the New West 7 Exhibition at the Van Dop Gallery starting during the New West Cultural Crawl and running until September 27th. Angie Au Hemphill, Judith Copland, Gabor Gasztonyi, Jim Walsh, Leslie Poole, Teressa Bernard, Jerry McLaughlin are the featured artist on exhibit at the Gallery at 421 Richmond Street. It is just one of the 23 venues and many more artists showing during the Crawl.
