Franz Ferdinand – Commodore Ballroom – April 25, 2014
Scottish rockers, Franz Ferdinand, had the Commodore Ballroom’s famous sprung dancefloor bouncing under the full house as they belted their way through their Vancouver show. The atmosphere was energetic as the sold out audience fed off the electric stage presence of the quartet especially lead Alex Kapranos and guitarist Nick McCarthy who bounded their way across the stage throughout the 100 minute set. Energy ebbed and flowed as they tore through their hits especially huge excitement for “Take Me Out”, “Do You Want To”, “Ulysses”. They even went off their set list to take a request shouted out from the audience to play “Darts Of Pleasure”. Another highlight was the full quartet playing Paul Thomson’s drum kit together for a cacophony of rhythm as they played out the set.
Touring in support of their 4th studio album Right Thoughts,Right Words,Right Action, the band finish their West Coast tour this week before heading back to Europe for the summer. Follow the band on Twitter @Franz_Ferdinand, Instagram @Franz_Ferdinand or Facebook.com/OfficialFranzFerdinand
