Hopcott Meats in Pitt Meadows is celebrating 10 years this August and renowned Hopcott Farm has a barn-load of fun-filled events in the coming months.
The festivities kick off this weekend with Meet the Rancher on Saturday, August 6th, including a charity BBQ for Alisa’s Wish, live music, free coffee and product samples, and activities for all ages. ‘Meet your Rancher’ is the perfect opportunity for public to get to know where their meat comes from and are invited to stop by and learn from the ranchers who raise their meat.
Farm and Music Festival on Saturday, August 20th featuring rising star, Jo Jo Mason, and past Canadian Folk Music Award Winner, Kierah, full admission to Meadows Maze and a BBQ lunch.
On August 21st, the famed Meadows Maze re-opens for its 17th year. The 17-acre cornfield, one of the largest corn mazes in the Pacific Northwest, uses GPS tracking to create its unique design with more than 8 km of trails. This year’s theme and design “Hopcott Celebrates 10 Years” features 3 different maze challenges to appeal to all ages, from young to old.
Farm Tracks Maze: great for small children as they explore winding paths and play the ‘Farm Tracks’ game
Farm Scene Investigation Maze: a medium-size maze that accommodates shorter time schedules. Guests collect clues from hidden stations to eliminate farm animal suspects, as they solve the mystery of “What Happened to Farmer Joe?”
Mega Maze: a giant maze that has 18 checkpoints over a 6 km trail.
Festivals continues into autumn with:
September Corn Festival including free popcorn, eating and shucking corn, races, contests, crafts and face painting.
Longtable Dinner: September 18th, a 5-course dinner prepared by Hopcott’s own chefs and wine pairings from Chaberton Estate Winery
October Cranberry Day including a pancake breakfast, contests, live entertainment, a tour of the Cranberry bog, cranberry crafts and more. Guests can even take a hand at booming cranberries in a water-filled bog exhibit.
Hopcott Meats is located at 18385 Old Dewdney Truck Road, Pitt Meadows.
The Maze is located adjacent to its sister operation Hopcott Meats at 13672 Reichenbach Rd. Pitt Meadows, BC.
