Pirate: Today is the day, BC adults get to be like the kids! Pirate Pak Day at White Spot allows everyone to order a signature Pirate Pak and White Spot will donate $2 from every purchase on Wednesday Aug 13th to Zajac Ranch for Kids.

Film Fest: Thursday, Vancouver’s second largest film festival kicks off. The Vancouver Queer Film Festival is 11 days of films, panels, parties and events all around Vancouver

Concert: Multi-award winning, singer/songwriter Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers fills up Rogers Arena on Thursday night.

Fair: Rope up some entertainment just across the border at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden Washington with concerts from Gary Allen, Huey Lewis & the News and Collective Soul on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Sing: Showtunes at 1181 is back for a summer session of your favourite Broadway showtunes to sing a-long to while you wash away the week with an after-work cocktail

NYNY: While you’re in a Broadway state of mind, take a trip to NEW YORK, a new night from DJ Adam Dreaddy at Brooklyn Nightclub in Gastown featuring DJs Karsten Sollors, Jamie Mucky and Dreaddy on the decks and street dance performances from Marcello Ranieri & Jory Pierce

Punk: Polaris Prize winners, F*cked Up take over Fortune Sound Club for an early gig at Fortune Sound Club

Exhibition: There’s some rain in the forecast this week, that can only mean it’s time for the PNE! The Pacific National Exhibition gets underway for another year on Saturday August 16th running until September 1st (closed Monday Aug 18 & Aug 25)

Divas: Over at The Cobalt, it’s a Nordic-Goddess Showdown – Björk vs Robyn, a night of drag, dance, divas and fun
