Get ready to celebrate the written word as The Vancouver Writers Festival kicks off October 22. One hundred writers take part in six days of events all around Granville Island. With works of non-fiction, poetry, short stories, plays and more, there’s something to peak the interest of readers of all ages. Readings, discussions, debates, performances and meet & greets will feature writers from all across the globe. Once the writers, like Britain’s Nadeem Aslam, Italy’s Viola di Grado, Iranian Sahar Delijani and Canadian icons Margaret Atwood and Douglas Coupland, have stimulated your love of the written word, head to the Festival Bookstore, run by Kidsbooks, located at Performance Works to pick up a copy of your favourite work.
Advance tickets for The Vancouver Writers Festival are on sale now and end at 4pm the day prior to the event, order online at vancouvertix.com, by phone 604.629.8849 or in person from the Festival Box Office at 1398 Cartwright Steet on Granville Island.
