Monday, March 6, a sold out crowd at Heritage Hall took part in the fourth annual Curry Cup competition at Heritage Hall. Eight acclaimed chefs from around Vancouver faced-off in a heated competition to determine which curry would reign supreme. The results were both traditional and unexpected with the competing chefs offering sweet, to spicy curries for the audience to taste and choose the People’s Choice.

Last year’s winner, chef Roger Ma of Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, joined the judge’s table alongside Alexander Gill, Vikram Vij and Lee Mann.
At the end of the competition, Chef Felix Zhou and the team from Heritage Asian Eatery came away with the 2017 Curry Cup grand championship as well as the People’s Choice award for their Thai Duck Curry with Potato Rosti dish.
The Chefs’ Table Society of BC is a non-profit association of BC’s leading culinary artists dedicated to nurturing the exchange of information between professionals. In keeping with the Chefs’ Table Society’s dedication to educating and mentoring the future generations of Chefs the Curry Cup raised $2000.00 to support Project Chef.
The Chefs’ Table Society of BC’s next event is the 11th annual Spot Prawn Festival coming up on Saturday, May 13.
