Since 1944, the Hollywood Foreign Press has been honouring their choices for the best of Movies and Television at the Golden Globe Awards.
Sunday night, comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler returned as hosts of the Golden Globes for their third consecutive year, kicking of the major Hollywood awards season. The live broadcast, shown online & NBC, was once again an entertaining affair, probably helped by the drinks partaken by the nominees and guests during the show. As is the new normal, the Golden Globes kept the audience updated on the Red Carpet and behind the scenes show action via YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
This year,Birdman leads nominees with 7 nods and followed by Boyhood and Imitation Game with 5 nominations. Fargo and True Detective lead the television categories with 5 and 4 nominations respectively.
At the end of the ceremony, Boyhood went home with 3 awards in the movie categories and in in TV newcomers The Affair, Fargo and Transparent each took home 2 awards.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award, honoring the lifetime achievements of actors and filmmakers was presented to George Clooney by former ER co-star, The Good Wife’s Juliana Margulies and Oceans Eleven (and sequels) costar Don Cheadle who both honoured and slightly roasted the actor, director, writer, producer, activist and philanthropist.
