Tomorrow, Saturday May 15th, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) is hosting its second annual Day of Music, celebrating the joy of music and diversity of voices in British Columbia.
The official free livestream will launch at 10am on dayofmusic.ca, the hub for all of the day’s performances, spreading music from across the province to the entire globe.
Day of Music was launched by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in 2019 as part of its centennial celebrations. More than 100 ensembles and musicians came together with over 14,000 audience members for a free day-long celebration of music. The global pandemic forces the cancellation of Day of Music 2020 but forced the innovation and adaptation of livestream and digital performances online, which all come together to allow the VSO to hold Day of Music 2021.
Join in to view over 100 performances from bands, orchestras, choirs, ensembles and more from around British Columbia. Help the musicians and performers celebrate their passion with Day of Music 2021. There’s something for everyone, music lovers of all genres, families and casual fans will find favourite acts and discover performances from new artists.
Official livestream launches at 10am on May 15, 2021 at dayofmusic.ca. While we may not be able to gather to watch the great performances in-person you can invite your friends to join in the celebration with #DayOfMusic on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube or Twitter.
