In the midst of strip malls and commercial businesses on Kingway, Chosun Korean BBQ is a tasty cultural oasis. A nicely decorated restaurant awaits patrons with each table having a bbq grill (bul pan) as the centrepiece. As with most Korean BBQ restaurants the menu can be overwhelming for a newcomer to know which meat(s) to pick from but the Chosun menu seemed to be broken down simply, at least at lunch when we attended. The Lunch BBQ combo make it easy to choose, two combo options; Combo A – Beef, Chicken & Pork Bulgogi (marinated meat) for $15.95 or Combo B – Galbi (beef short rib), Chicken Bulgogi, Pork Belly & Beef Tongue for $18.95. We choose Combo A and the staff fired up the grill for us to start grilling. The traditional Korean condiments of Kimchi, pickled radish, potato and seaweed compliment the flavours of the BBQ.
Lunch at Chosun Korean BBQ makes what can be a complicated experience a simple, flavourful meal
