Because “Chocolate Makes You Happy”, the 14th annual Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival returns to warm us on the cold winter days, January 13 to February 14, 2024.
Since 2011, the ‘Original Hot Chocolate Festival’, presented by CityFood Media, has been brewing delicious chocolate creations. This year, the Festival has grown to 162 creative flavours to be found at 105 of the region’s best chocolatiers, cafés, pastry shops, bakeries, gelato and ice cream. From decadently rich classic hot chocolate to gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options, the Chocstars have created something for every taste.
Plenty of playful drinks bring the fun to the dark days of winter too! For example; Vancouver Aquarium’s Courtyard Café’s Hot Shark’olate – house made chocolate syrup, steamed milk, and topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings served in a take-home shark mug with a sugar cookie – takes Hot Chocolate to new depths!
Honolulu Coffee’s two creative offerings let you have a hand in your crafting your creation. Calli-Coco is an INK-spiration! A blend of white chocolate and steamed milk, creating a pristine canvas to dip the provided brush-pen into a glass of jet-black “Ink” – created from activated charcoal power, sesame paste and a touch of Earl Grey – allowing you to add your own artistic expression to the drink with also includes fortune cookie. (Note: The brush pen is sanitized, single-use, and complimentary)
Honolulu’s also offers, Snow-Coco a 70% dark chocolate blended with steamed oat milk, creating a dark & creamy canvas drizzled with Macadamia nut and coconut syrup, while two marshmallow snowmen bring a winter wonderland to your cup.
Once again, Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival also supports the charitable endeavours of Fresh to Families, Growing Chefs and this year some of our vendors will be donating a portion of their festival proceeds to charities they feel close to.
Over the month-long duration of the Greater Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival many locations will be serving two different flavours of hot chocolate creations so be sure to visit and taste each one of them. Check out the vendor list and digital map online at hotchocolatefest.com to discover your new fave hot chocolate flavour.
