Wednesday evening the clouds parted and rains ceased in time for Vancouver Foodster and Tasting Plates YVR to take patrons on an exploration of Asian flavours around Vancouver on the Asian Eats Tasting Tour.
Four local eateries shared and showed the diversity of Asian food around Vancouver. Indian, Indo-Chinese, Vietnamese, Himalayan, Nepalese and Filipino all tickled our taste buds.
At Indian Oven, 2006 W. 4th Avenue, the new owners served a tasty sample of their menu including; Gol Gappa, Tandoori Soya, Daal Makhani, Kashmiri Pulao, Spinach Paneer Naan and Mango Chicken which is also their entry in Vancouver Foodster’s Best Curry Challenge, on now.


Across town at 2141 Kingsway, Crab Hot Lau, packed a whole lot of filling and flavour into their handmade Nem Cua Bien (Crab Square Rolls); stuffed with crab meat, ground pork, shrimps, eggs, mushrooms, glass noodles, vegetables
In the Fraserhood, Momo Hut, 6372 Fraser Street offered another sampling of flavours from Nepal. Steamed Chicken Momo (Dumpling), Fried Vegetable Momo, Bhatmas Sadeko (Soybeans), Aloo (Potato)


Lastly, Win Win Chick-N on Main, was a win win as they offered a combo of Filipino-style Macaroni, French Fries alongside their award-winning spicy, crispy Fried Chicken.
